Why Ultherapy at Pur Skin Clinic?
Our medical providers have over 40 years combined experience as Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology specialists. Using ultrasound technology, Ultherapy enables our team to see and treat the deepest support layers of the skin (typically addressed in cosmetic surgery), without cutting or disrupting the skin’s surface.
How does Ultherapy work?
Ultherapy’s secret is ultrasound energy. This treatment incorporates traditional ultrasound imaging, which allows Pur Skin Providers see the layers of tissue they are treating, ensuring the treatment energy is delivered where it will be most beneficial and safe.
Ultherapy deposits focused ultrasound energy deep beneath the skin at the optimal temperature for collagen regeneration. The ultrasound energy reaches all the way to the deepest levels of the skin; the same levels as those affected in surgical face lifting. This treatment jumpstarts a natural renewal process, known as neocollagenesis, to produce fresh, new collagen. This new collagen lifts and tightens the many layers of the skin for a natural, long term, noticeable result.
When will I notice results?
After your Ultherapy treatment you may see some initial effect, but the ultimate results will take place over 2-3 months, as your body naturally regenerates collagen. The visible results from Ultherapy can last from 12-24 months, depending on your body’s natural aging process.
Which areas are treated?
Ultherapy is designed to treat the entire face including above the brow line, below the chin, the neck, and the décolletage (chest). Your provider can tailor a treatment plan for you at the time of your consultation depending on your areas of concern.
What does Ultherapy feel like?
Comfort levels vary from person to person. Many patients describe the sensation as momentary prickling or heat beneath the skin. This is the ultrasound energy being delivered into the tissue, which is how Ultherapy lifts and tightens the skin.
How many treatments are recommended?
Our providers recognize best results up to 1 year and recommend continued yearly treatments to keep up optimal results. During your consultation, a Pur Skin Clinic medical provider will create a customized treatment plan for you, to include suggested treatment areas, number of treatments, and future treatments for upkeep.
Is this treatment safe?
The FDA-cleared Ultherapy procedure has been used safely in over 350,000 treatments worldwide. Ultrasound energy has been used safely in the medical field for more than 50 years. In addition, every Ultherapy practitioner receives extensive procedural training. The innovative Ultherapy system allows us to see beneath the skin exactly where we are treating, so there is no guesswork of what tissue level we are actually treating. At all times your provider can view skin structures to be sure you are treated precisely, safely and at maximum beneficial treatment levels.
Who performs this treatment?
The treatments are performed by our Cosmetic Dermatology Specialist Denice Schwind PA-C, Jill Kandora, PA-C or our Master Medical Esthetician in conjunction with your medical provider.
Who is a good candidate for Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is an ideal treatment option for someone with skin that has become lax often looking and feeling less firm. Optimal candidates are men and women of all ages with mild to moderate skin laxity. One of our medical providers will evaluate if you are an appropriate candidate at the time of your consultation.
What can I expect after my treatment?
Most patients are able to return to normal activities immediately after treatment. The skin may appear a bit flushed immediately after Ultherapy, but any redness should disappear within a few hours.
How long will my results last?
Of course, your skin will continue its natural aging process, so you may need to schedule an annual “touch-up” visit to maintain your results. Many patients receive good clinical results with a single treatment, though some people who have a fair amount of laxity may benefit from more than one treatment.
