Clean Water Haiti
As their mission statement reads: “Pur Skin Clinic is devoted to establishing a positive presence in the local and extended community, that actively that actively participates in helping those in need.”
EDMONDS, Washington, (March 7, 2014)- Pur Skin Clinic has focused on raising funds for a clean water community well in Potoseyal, Haiti to supply nearly 300 people with access to clean water. Through generous support from patients and the community in Edmonds, Pur Skin Clinic raised $10,000 to build the well. On February 11th, Provider Denice Schwind travelled to Haiti for the inauguration of the well, and to meet the community of Potoseyal. The inauguration was a 3 hour celebration, including Haitian government officials, Haiti Outreach and the newly appointed Potoseyal water committee, who will manage the clean water for a more healthy community. During this visit, Schwind was also able to visit a local Haitian orphanage and a school, sponsored by Haiti Outreach.
Pur Skin Clinic, your trusted Cosmetic Dermatology & Wellness Center, not only focuses on the health of their patients, but giving back to their community. Founder and Cosmetic Dermatology Specialist Denice Schwind, PA-C, has been involved with clean water projects over the past two years, sparked by a volunteer trip in 2011 treating children with water borne illness in Machu Picchu, Peru. More than 4,500 children die every day due to lack of clean water, and 1 billion people lack access to clean water worldwide! Water sanitation projects are one of the most effective ways of saving lives and most cost-effective investments in disease prevention.
Pur Skin Clinic plans to continue supporting various local and international philanthropic causes to include another well in Haiti in 2015. For more information regarding Pur Skin Clinic’s philanthropy visit Pur Skin Clinic’s Website.
