Palomar Fractionated LUX1540

Palomar Fractionated 1540 Laser

The Palomar Fractionated 1540 is a revolutionary noninvasive laser designed to dramatically improve skin texture and tone, including the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and surgical scar without significant downtime. The Palomar 1540 is similar to the Fraxel laser except that we are able to offer our fractional laser treatment at a significantly reduced price because there are no consumable costs that we have to pass on to our patients!

During your consultation we will make a recommendation that is best for your skin type and desired outcome. On average, treatments are performed in a series of 3-5 treatments approximately 3-4 weeks apart.

What does the 1540 Fractionated Treatment do?

The Fractionated Laser resurfacing treatment effectively improves sun damaged skin to include tone and texture. In addition, fractionated laser reduces wrinkles, fine lines, and improves appearance of acne scars and surgical scars. The Fractionated Laser targets both the surface and the deeper layers of the skin for a smoother, fresher, younger looking appearance. It’s an excellent treatment for face, neck, chest, eyes, arms, legs and back.

How does 1540 Fractionated Laser treatments work?

The Palomar 1540 utilizes fractional resurfacing technology, where only a small fraction of the skin receives the laser light. Thousands of tiny but deep columns of laser energy are produced. This eliminates surface pigment and penetrates deep into the skin, intensively restoring the skin. Around the microscopic treatment zones, the surrounding tissue is unaffected and intact. This allows the skin to heal much faster than if the entire area were treated at once, using the body’s natural healing process to create new, healthy tissue. The fractionated laser also stimulates collagen production in the skin which rejuvenates the skin from the inside, smoothing the appearance of wrinkles and scars.

Can I get other treatments done the same day?

We recommend you wait 2 weeks after your laser treatment to have injectable treatments.

When is the best time to get 1540 Fractionated treatments done?

This treatment will make your skin more UV-light sensitive. Ideally these treatments are best performed October-June, avoiding mid-summer months. We ask our patients to please wear Pur Skin Clinic approved every morning, reapplying every two hours when outside, and protect yourself with hats to keep your skin safe from sun damage and skin cancers.

What are the contraindications for this treatment?

Contraindications include use of medications that increase photosensitivity (such as certain antibiotics or Accutane), use of anticoagulants or have had chemotherapy in the past 6 months, history of bleeding disorders, pregnancy/breastfeeding, and seizures disorders. PLEASE ADVISE YOUR LASER PROVIDER IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THESE CONDITIONS.

Who performs the treatment?

The treatments will be performed by our highly trained laser providers, Jill Kandora, PA-C or our Master Medical Esthetician. Dr. Reinertson supervises all laser treatments and Pūr Skin Clinic has the highest protocols in place for your safety and desired outcome.
