What is Skinpen MicroNeedling?
The SkinPen is a FDA approved MicroNeedling device that is suitable for all skin types and is used to treat a variety of conditions. This non-invasive treatment uses 14 tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries into the dermis of the skin to increase new collagen production and skin rejuvenation.
These micro-injuries trick your skin into thinking there has been trauma (think of when you get a cut on your skin) which then causes a wound-healing response. In this wound-healing process, the production of the fibroblasts and elastin in the dermis increase to repair the epidermal (outermost) layer of the skin.
SkinPen’s variable needle depth allows it to operate from 0.5mm-2.5mm, making it very versatile to tend to any patient’s individual needs and skin type. This technology is more advanced than other MicroNeedling devices and penetrates the skin at a faster rate, therefore stimulating a more significant collagen production.

Recovery & Downtime for MicroNeedling
Patients can expect to feel a slight vibration with this treatment after a topical numbing agent, making it pain free and tolerable.

Day 1: Most patients leave the clinic with mild-moderate pinpoint bleeding along with redness (sunburn effect). The skin can feel tight, warm, and some mild swelling may occur.
Day 2: Mild-moderate redness, the skin may appear as though there is a sunburn. Tight & dry is a common feeling for day two.
Day 3: At this point, most patient’s skin has subsided from any redness. The skin may still feel tight and dry and some mild peeling can occur for some patients.
