The Fire and Ice Facial is an innovative technique that combines the resurfacing power of a chemical peel with the soothing feeling of a facial. This highly effective facial treatment is very popular with many of Hollywood’s A-List celebrities, gaining it the moniker “The Red Carpet Facial.”

The first step of the facial involves cleansing the face. After this is the application of the Fire, or hot layer. The active ingredient of the mask is 18% glycolic acid, along with other ingredients like malic acid, lactic acid, citric acid, vitamin B3, and retinol. Green tea extracts are also added for their antioxidant properties. The mask might be scented with spices like cinnamon.

Once the mask is applied, you will feel a warmth on your face, accompanied by some tingling. The mask acts similar to a chemical peel, removing the top layer of dead cells while stimulating collagen growth and regeneration of new cells. It only takes about five minutes for the mask to be effective, and it can then be removed.

Following the hot treatment, the skin is neutralized and then the cold treatment is applied. The Ice layer is comprised of a formulation of hyaluronic acid mixed into a soothing aloe vera gel. Licorice and herbal extracts with antioxidant properties are also added to the mix.

The Ice mask soothes and rejuvenates the skin and helps to counter the burning and tingling caused by the Fire layer. The second treatment also moisturizes and plumps the skin. The Ice mask is left on for about ten minutes, with cooling pads on the eyes.

After the Ice mask has been removed, an ointment is applied to the treated skin to help it heal faster. The skin is pink and sensitive at this point and will take about a day or two to heal. Once the healing is complete, the skin is visibly rejuvenated and revitalized, looking younger and healthier.
