Fractional ablative skin resurfacing technology vaporizes micro-columns of tissue in your skin and removes it from your skin completely, allowing the formation of new healthy skin cells. One treatment may provide significant improvement for more severe skin conditions such as deeper wrinkles, enlarged pore size, and deep pitted acne scars. When compared to traditional CO2 laser resurfacing, this laser produced similar results with much less downtime and produced impressive changes in skin texture, removal of wrinkles, and acne scarring.

The Palomar laser resurfacing is clinically proven to make skin smoother and tighter, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and improve tone and texture with a single treatment. The Palomar 2940 laser is a fractional ablative laser used to treat deeper wrinkles and textural irregularities of patients with moderate sun damage and signs of aging. This dual-wavelength laser treatment utilizes both ablative and non-ablative technology with the ability to fine-tune each one depending on the treatment goals. Many times sun damage and signs of aging cause changes in the top layer of the skin (epidermis) that benefit from ablative treatment and in the lower layers of the skin (dermis) that benefit from non-ablative treatments. During your consultation, your medical provider will recommend which or both lasers that you would be a candidate for depending on the condition of your skin and aesthetic goals.
